About UNTranet

CITC has created a SharePoint system called UNTranet, which serves as an "intranet" for UNT faculty and staff. UNTranet "sites" can be created quickly to give a department or committee a "location" to collaborate -- to share files,
calendars, ideas, etc. SharePoint includes many features and capabilities -- within UNTranet, our initial focus is on the development of web-based forms and workflow for the UNT's business functions which are not already automated within the Enterprise Information System (PeopleSoft).

Each UNT employee should be able to access https://untranet.unt.edu after logging in with "UNT\" and the user's Enterprise User-ID (EUID). The login process follows the same procedure as login to http://webmail.unt.edu. Employees of UNT's Health Science Center also have access to https://hsc.untranet.unt.edu, while UNT-Dallas employees can access https://untranet.unt.edu/untdallas.

UNTranet is available to UNT employees from both on- and off-campus locations. A few SharePoint features may require that off-campus users first log in to UNT's private network (vpn.unt.edu) before accessing UNTranet, but currently this issue affects only a few UNTranet sites.

Since SharePoint is a Microsoft product, Internet Explorer (latest version) is the browser best suited to accessing SharePoint sites. IE users accessing SharePoint for the first time will be prompted to install a small software application. Other browsers will work, but some features/options are hidden.
