(940-565-3866)The mission of the Enterprise Systems and Technical Services division is to provide infrastructure, application and technical support for mission critical services on campus. Major initiatives of the ESTS division include the delivery of high-availability services such as UNT’s distance learning platform and the campus messaging system. The ESTS division is comprised of the following teams:
Central Web Support
Central Web Support (CWS) provides provides web hosting services and support to UNT faculty, staff and students. Services include allocating and assisting departments, campus organizations and faculty with web space and associated applications. Additionally, CWS assists web developers with databases and associated web applications, troubleshooting problems, support and service.
Directory Services Team
The Directory Services Team (DST) provides directory, authentication, system virtualization, monitoring and account computer management services as well as direct support for Microsoft and Novell server technologies to the UNT System.
Distributed Computing Services
Distributed Computing Services (DCS) provides technology support services for the Computing & Information Technology Center (CITC) staff and other supported departmental personnel. We are committed to delivering quality customer service and technical solutions in support of campus-wide technology.
Distributed Learning Support
The Distributed Learning Support group manages UNT's learning management systems and engages in research and development of emerging online education technology.
Infrastructure Technical Services
The Infrastructure Technical Services area supplies 24/7 computing support for campus wide backup, storage, and server administration services to the UNT business community and other partners within CITC for whom we continually strive to administer and maintain a seamless cloud platform. Our mission is to afford UNT distinguished support in server administration, backup and storage computing services.
Imaging Services
The mission of Imaging Services is to provide imaging support to all active departments currently using ImageNow software, as well as assist new departments with their deployment of ImageNow. We are committed to delivering quality customer service for all imaging users on campus.
Messaging Services Group
Messaging Services Group (MSG) provides services to facilitate effective communications within the UNT community and with its partners-in-education throughout the world.
Microcomputer Maintenance Shop
The mission of CITC's Microcomputer Maintenance Shop (MMS) is to support computing for UNT students, faculty, and staff by providing expertise and services in order to maintain existing microcomputer equipment and assist with the selection and purchase of new computers and upgrade hardware.
UNTranet
CITC has created a SharePoint system called UNTranet, which serves as an "intranet" for UNT faculty and staff. UNTranet "sites" can be created quickly to give a department or committee a "location" to collaborate -- to share files, calendars, ideas, etc.
