How do I backup my Outlook archive folder?

  1. First, close Outlook.
  2. Then, download and install the Personal Folders Backup program from Microsfot by clicking here.
  3. Start Outlook again. On the File menu, choose Backup.
  4. In the dialog box that opens, click the Options button.
  5. By default, you will be reminded to backup your Archive folder(s) every seven days, but feel free to change the frequency. Check the personal folder(s) that you want to backup.
  6. Under File location, click the Browse button. We want to backup your archive(s) to your Home drive, so select your Home drive mapping and click Open. Then click the OK button.
  7. Take an initial backup now by clicking the Save Backup button. Outlook will need to close in order to backup your archive.
  8. You will be reminded to repeat step number 7 after the number of days you specified on step number 5.
