- Open Outlook. Click Tools and then select Account Settings.
- Select the Data Files tab and click the Add button.
- Select Office Outlook Personal Folders File (.pst) and click OK.
- Navigate to:
C:\Documents and Settings\YourEUID\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook - Open My Computer and click Tools. From the Tools menu select Folder Options.
- Click the View tab and select the bullet called Show hidden files and folders and click OK.
- Select the .pst file you need and close out of the dialog box. You should now see your archive listed in the Mail pane on the left.
NOTICE:
If you cannot see the Local Settings folder, you do not have the Show hidden files and folders option on. To turn it on, follow these steps:
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type cmd and then click OK.
- In the command prompt, type ipconfig /all
- Your IP address is located under "IP Address"
- Your MAC address is located under "Physical Address"
- Click Start, and then click My Computer.
- In the address bar, type \\citcwin1
- Double click the Apps folder.
- Double click the OCS folder.
- Double click the Communicator.msi file and follow the prompts to finalize the installation.
- When OCS starts you should automatically log in.

- Click the Finder icon in the Dock.
- Choose Connect to Server from the Go menu.
- In the address field of the Connect to Server dialog, type the URL using this syntax:
smb://Servername/ShareName/
Example: smb://citcwin2.unt.ad.unt.edu/home/ - Click Connect.
- Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
- Double click on Printers and Faxes.
- In the left pane of the window, select Add a printer.
- In the dialog box that opens, click Next to continue.
- Select A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer.
- Select Find a printer in the directory.
- This will bring up a list of all printers in Active Directory. To narrow down the search to strictly printers at CITC, type CITC into the Name field and click Find Now.
- Click Start, and then click My Computer.
- If you are in Active Directory, simply type \\citcwin1 or \\citcwin2.
Please refer to the Windows Server Directories below to know which one to connect to.- If you are NOT in Active Directory, you must type the full address \\citcwin1.unt.ad.unt.edu or \\citcwin2.unt.ad.unt.edu
- Navigate to the folder you wish to map to and right-click copy the address. For example, if in Active Directory, the full address to my home drive is \\citcwin2\home\mwn0021, so I would highlight and copy that address.
- At the top of the My Computer window, click Tools and select Map Network Drive...
- In the new dialog box that opens, select whichever letter you would like for this drive to be. In this example, I am mapping my Home drive so I will chose the drive letter H. In the Folder input box, right-click and select paste to insert the address of the drive you wish to map.
- Make sure you check the Reconnect at logon option.
- Click the Finish button. Now you should have this drive mapped in My Computer.
- First, close Outlook.
- Then, download and install the Personal Folders Backup program from Microsfot by clicking here.
- Start Outlook again. On the File menu, choose Backup.
- In the dialog box that opens, click the Options button.
- By default, you will be reminded to backup your Archive folder(s) every seven days, but feel free to change the frequency. Check the personal folder(s) that you want to backup.
- Under File location, click the Browse button. We want to backup your archive(s) to your Home drive, so select your Home drive mapping and click Open. Then click the OK button.
- Take an initial backup now by clicking the Save Backup button. Outlook will need to close in order to backup your archive.
- You will be reminded to repeat step number 7 after the number of days you specified on step number 5.
- Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
- Double click Mail.
- Click the Show Profiles button.
- Click the Add button.
- Enter either your name or EUID as the Profile Name and click OK.
- Fill out the information as requested and your Outlook profile will be created.
